ParticipantYou need to go to http://www.modssl.org, download the latest package, decompress it and copy the sign.sh to you “ca” folder.
Hope this helps.

Participantcurl -O http://www.modssl.org/source/cvs/exp/mod_ssl/pkg.mod_ssl/pkg.contrib/sign.sh
Seems to go nowhere? any updates on this URL
From: Installing and creating your own SSL certificate on Mac OS X Server
Now for the one piece that you need to download to complete the set. So,curl -O http://www.modssl.org/source/cvs/exp/mod_ssl/pkg.mod_ssl/pkg.contrib/sign.sh
now sign the certificate with your CA and you are good to go.
sh sign.sh server.csr
I get this error
sign.sh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `2.0//EN”>’
sign.sh: line 1: `<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”>’Thanks

ParticipantThanks for the reply.
In this article:
https://www.afp548.com/Articles/Jaguar/sambapdc.htmlit tells me to setup Open Direc. “Stored and access locally in user records”, why is that?
I did that and now when I run that command it shows :
41 localhost
42 broadcasthostbut when I do the hostname command in the terminal it says server1 (which should be the real host name). I think I may have somehow messed up my netinfo database now when I restart it pauses on netinfo services for a min.

ParticipantThank you again Joel. I’ll keep moving forwards, and we’ll see what happens.

Participant….it’s all running very well as far as I can see. A very well put together package is AMaVis and the mailing list folk are very helpful (that’s where the solution came from).
The only error I spotted in your article is that if you cut and paste the freshclam command line, the ‘-l’ flag which should be a lowercase “L” is actually a 1 (“ONE”) on your web page. It’s not a big deal but some people may be unsure what to do when freshclam complains.
Oh and the advice to ditch Perl 5.6 and reinstall 5.8 is I think more than just advice … seems to be essential as far as I can see and makes the CPAN install stuff much more reliable.
All in all though, you guys have helped me out a huge amount – an excellent set of articles. So thanks a lot!
Now if only you could help me to figure out a way to rebuild a broken RAID mirror without plugging a keyboard and monitor into my x-serve (which is 30 miles away) I’d be a happy man 🙂

ParticipantTurns out there were two problems:
1) SpamAssassin for some reason couldn’t see the user_prefs file. Solved by issuing the command:
touch /var/amavis/.spamassassin/user_prefs
This just creates the file so SpamAssassin doesn’t bleat. It’s Ok to be empty.
2) There is a problem with Net::Servers 0.85 (which is the latest version) and AMaViS. The solution is to downgrade to version 0.84 by typing (at the cpan prompt):
cpan> install R/RH/RHANDOM/Net-Server-0.84.tar.gz
I’d already figured out the problem wasn’t with Exim as Exim basically didn’t acknowedge the mail as delivered to AMaViSd – due to the lack of a ‘250 OK’ response. All works fine and dandy now.

ParticipantThanks, I thought that should be the situation. I am not using password server so I know that is not the problem. Still when I enter the information into OS X Mail I get the message,
“The IMAP server “192.168.1.99” rejected the password for the user “mkjellman””
I know I am typing the correct password and user because I can login with that information. The real interesting thing is that if I type a bogus login as the login it still gives the message above. What did I do wrong? (Why does this need to be so hard lol ) 😉

ParticipantJust FYI: I was never able to get Postfix installed and operational under that instalation of 10.2.4 server. I ended up doing a clean install and install postfix before I upgraded any parts. I used Postfix 1.1.12 at first. Then once it worked I upgraded server, upgraded postfix, and upgraded Bearkly DB.

ParticipantThe NetInfo database name is the tag name, e.g. network.
The information contained by a NetInfo database is called a domain. The domain name is a logical name.
At the top of a NetInfo Manager window you se tag@host to the left and the domain name to the right.
The domain contained in the network database is the top domain in a two level NetInfo hieracy and therefor called root (/)Anonymous
Participant[quote:6d03e46e97=”MacTroll”]Check the mail tab for the user in WorkGroup Manager.
There will be a spot to put in the server that the user lives on. Make sure that this is your server’s IP address.

Hi Joel:
Thanx for your help. I’ve solved the problem. The field you mentioned was filled with “xxx.xxx.net”. I changed it to the internal IP instead and it worked. May I ask why? Please advise, thank you.
