ParticipantYes, you are right. I first tried to install postfix according to the guideline published at http://www.stepwise.com where it states that installation of the BerkeleyDB is required prior to installation of Postfix.
So I installed BerkeleyDB, then found the afp548 article and removed (or tried to do) it again. It seems not be completely removed, right? How can I get my System back to default again? Or can I somehow go ahead with it as it is?
Thank you for your valued support.Anonymous
ParticipantIf your hardware allows, set up a VLAN on your LAN switch.
Basically, server (S:), router1 (R1:), and router2 (R2:)if your LAN users use R1 for internet connection, then:
VLAN 1 – S: , R1:, rest of the LAN
VLAN 2 – S: , R2:This keeps router1 and router2 separate, but each is accessible by server. LAN is limited to using router1 for internet traffic. (I am assuming R2 is a backup circuit, or dedicated circuit to a remote office.)

ParticipantMay sound dumb, but did you try restarting the Finder?
If you can’t force quit it, perhaps via your terminal connection you could kill the PID.October 17, 2002 at 2:17 pm in reply to: IPsec from OS 10.2 to Windows without the Nortel Client #354667Anonymous
Participant[quote:2d155756fa=”CliffCurtis”]I’ve tied several times with Virtual PC and am throwing in the towel. How do I get a VPN connectionon my Mac running OS 10.2, that would have otherwise required a WinTel Machine running the Nortel Connectivity client.
[/quote:2d155756fa]You don’t.
The contivity client is meant to connect to a Contivity Extranet Switch. Contivity uses a subset of the IPSec standards that means you have to use the branded client. The OSX client for Contivity is promised by year end (but then it was previously promised for July 2002).In this case you’re probably better off using a SSH tunnel.

Participant“Apple includes OpenSSH 3.4p1 and OpenSSL 0.9.6e in Mac OS X 10.2, so this article is a bit redundant.”
Sorry…should have read this at the beginning of the article. I am running 10.2 client already.
Did I mess anything up?
I’m doing fresh install just in case. I want to customize the install, and NOT load all of the foreign languages and localization files that I don’t need.
Thanks for the help.

ParticipantI’m running 10.2 workstation. There is no SSH setting. Is this unique to the server?

ParticipantAfter you get the self-signed cert to work, I have another problem…I can’t get Apple’s “Mail” client to connect with a mail server using a self-signed cert. The server is BSD.
I have googled and googled, but no help in adding a self-signed cert to “Mail”. There are instructions for adding to Internet Explorerer (same location used for MS-Outlook Express), but this doesn’t help.

ParticipantIt is just to say I just got to know about Vapor and downloaded to test. Our network administration has also changed the ssh port to a different one (5023) so I can’t yet test 🙁 . Me too I am standing in the waiting line….

ParticipantThis app has made my life a lot easier. Thanks for creating it! Bookmarks would be great, retyping everything every time isn’t very much fun.
Also, saving port info would be great. I use Timbuktu a lot (port 407) and having a drop down menu with all the ports I can set would be great.
Thanks for making this app.
