That is what I do. Make package. Reimage machine. Make package. Reimage machine. I know InstallEase has an option to make an uninstaller but haven’t tried/trusted that way yet.

Ha! There it is. I guess the README file in the InstallerChoices folder wasn’t updated. It still says to put it in the same directory as the instadmg script but the instaDMG PDF says otherwise and I missed it. Thanks Jeff.

Onward ho! To more images!

It is still not seeing the InstallerChoices.xml… I’m assuming it’s suppose to be in the folder where instadmg.bash is contained like the other versions…. I’m using the same file that works in 1.4b1 but when I put it into the 1.4b4 it stops working…

What did you use/do to convert it UNIX line feed? I tried nano and pico and all that and it still isn’t working for me.

I was having problems with this and I finally put the main install disk just in the BaseOS folder and not in a numbered folder and the support discs in a numbered folder in the BaseOS folder and this fixed the error. This doesn’t seem intuitive to me though. Why would putting a main install disc image in a numbered folder like “01” not work. Why can’t instadmg look for the main install disc in a numbered folder?

You are trying to run a DMG instead of a PKG/MPKG. That is probably why.

Mount the MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.11Intel.dmg and extract the PKG file into the AppleUpdate folders. Then try again.

The log you posted doesn’t seem complete. At the end of the post it seems like it’s still installing the Mac OS X base still.
Quote by: benfeea1[p]CS3 is by far the most challenging app to package.
I has a silent install too, and it would not work with instaDMG.
I tried my old favorite, Iceberg, no dice.
Spend $99.00 and buy JAMF Composer. It is the only app that will package all the Adobe CS3 stuff correctly. It is worth you sanity. Composer worked the first time.[/p]
Do you use JAMF Composer now for all your package making?

Transition has been easy. I took out all the Apple updates, and ran with with all my custom pkgs in. Then I added the updates that it asked for after. It shows 10.5.3. Everything looks good.

I was using a Macbook Pro Multi-touch Installer CD image.

Try it without the LeopardGraphicsUpdate1.0.pkg update. I’ve been hearing that this update doesn’t work well with InstaDMG.

Ya, it took me awhile to figure out the same thing. It needs to be directed to the exact location on the volume.

Renaming the hard drive I use a launchD plist that calls a first time boot up script that runs and then deletes the launchD plist. You can’t do a post flight script package during the instaDMG stage because it creates an image based on the finished sparse image so it will over write the name or even mess up the InstaDMG script since it is probably looking for a specific image name.

I believe to answer your first question, it has to do with Apple Updates:

Make sure you are logged into a user that has permission to read/write to the folder?

Is this a known issue? Would installing the updates after the image make it bonk or will it be ok?
