Anyone get a network silent install of CS3 working? Or have tried? I created an empty package with pre/postflight files that mounts a network drive that has the Adobe CS3 installer then calls the Setup in the Setup.app. It works great double clicking on the package but when I plop it into InstaDMG it doens’t install anything.

Also, I have tried packaging CS3 with Iceberg but it keeps losing the licensing after I use the package to install so I’m trying a silent install.

CS3 is by far the most challenging app to package.
I has a silent install too, and it would not work with instaDMG.
I tried my old favorite, Iceberg, no dice.
Spend $99.00 and buy JAMF Composer. It is the only app that will package all the Adobe CS3 stuff correctly. It is worth you sanity. Composer worked the first time.

i’ve done silent/network installs to multiple machines at once, but i’m not sure it will work for you in this situation. do your post flight scripts call the setup app with its full path?

you might also try using lanrev installease or the logGen/pkgGen approaches to packaging the apps. i’ve done it with both of those techniques, and the resulting packages have worked fine.

Do you use JAMF Composer now for all your package making?

I still prefer Iceberg. I have a template already setup in Iceberg with my logos and scripts.
I use Composer to gather the files / do the delta. Composer is very efficient at gathering all the correct components of an install. I don’t mind paying 99.00 to save my sanity.
