ParticipantIf you partially create the home directory, ie create the Documents folder to put something in it, the rest of it will NOT be created on first login.
So, either properly build it (PITA) or add your additions to the defualt user template and let it build naturally…. just be careful what you add.knowmad
ParticipantI saw something similar a very long time ago… any chance you randomly assigning UID to your admin account? This happened (something similar actually) to me when I had my UID randomly assigned for supposed security reasons (not my decision) and it landed on one of the prebuilt admin accounts…. created havoc.

ParticipantI am also having no issues with patchofficeupdate and 12.2.0 and 12.2.1

ParticipantIf on the other hand you want it to do system setup, but not account creation, thats something else completely….

ParticipantChris,
I may be remembering this wrong but… network setup only works after boot… not in the build train… true?knowmad

ParticipantBTW, the insert point has moved from line 622 to line 678 and some of the syntax has changed, but should be easy enough to figure out.

Participantoddly enough I had reason to use an older copy of the script tonight and GOT the error for the first time.
I noticed something I had never seen before, an instadmg folder in /tmp with garage band receipts in it… weird….
Good thing I wont be using this old version of the script anymore(don’t ask, its not worth it)knowmad
Participantwe always talk about our build train (or I, as far as I know, am the only one who talks about a build stream)… just a suggestion for ideas.

ParticipantIn my experience, having tried what your doing, and then having to redo the whole thing again for each and every update…
Just using the installers and loading them into my build train… simple, safe, auditable…
but, hey, do what works for you.July 31, 2009 at 1:38 am in reply to: How to include MacOS X preferences files and app preferences files in InstaDMG builds #376755knowmad
