    Bump …

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? It’s a real hair puller as to why a) l2tp is even launching, and b) it’s crashing and getting throttled … gazillions of lines in the logs doesn’t help either 🙁

Thanks for the pointer, but it seems that 10.5.x server has changed this behavior, I have an /etc/my.cnf already (for large systems default). It looks like the server Setup Assistant put it there for me.

According to the EFI spec you should be able to boot from USB devices, but maybe Apple just hasn’t implimented that yet.

I’m curious to play with one of these units. I read through most of the EFI docs and presentations last night and it looks pretty interesting.

I guess no more forth versions of pong will be running on the new hardware Frown

It works great for me on several machines. There are some small permissions adjustments you need to do. I can’t tell them to you off the top of my head, but I know that you can find them on entropy.ch pages in the software -> mysql area.

I’ve had a bunch of similar problems, although I had bigger ones so I put this one on the back burner. I didn’t get any of my problems solved, I think at this point we are stuck waiting for some updates from Apple for 10.4.x and hopefully this solves the problems. My mobile users can’t login when they are not on the network (eeeek). Thank goodness I only have one laptop user stuck on Tiger right now ….

Not sure this is possible. If they are group members that have read/write access to the dir all the files by default will inherit these permissions (unless I’m missing something in what you are asking).

I just ran into a few accounts like this as well. The only solution I found was to delete the account in question, and remake it. To prevent possible headaches I made note of the UID on original account and manually set to the same UID when remaking the account.

This seems to have solved my problems, hope it helps.

edit: I also posted in the Open Mike forum a bigger thread related to this with more info in this thread
