ParticipantI’m having sinilar problems too. I have the BEFVP41 and it really doesn’t have much advice for setup for clients (especially OSX users!).
I’m getting the following message in the log:
INFO: isakmp.c:1357:isakmp_open(): 192.168.2.50[500] used as isakmp port (fd=7)
with the message repeating for each ip/mac address when I start vaporize.
Any ideas as I am a complete newbie to this!

ParticipantI’m not really sure of the benifit. I just know my company’s VPN gateways require it.
I’m in no rush so I’ll just wait for the next revision.
Maybe the thing do to is have an “advanced setting” link or tab were you can tweak out some of these settings. That way the basic page doesn’t become too cluttered / confusing for someone who wants to set up a basic ipsec connection.

ParticipantSure, you can use another computer to go to the Apple web site, download the upgrade, and transfer it some other way to your target computer, then install.

ParticipantWell, not sure if this is due to the interfaces I had on my box (en0 and en1 + loopback)
But to get it to work I had to set manually the IP of the NIC connected to the internet (well, the other one is not connected)
Maybe you could make a menu where you choose the interface you use, and the script then picks up that interface IPI’m thinking about that for … well for peeps like me with 3 network cable on their desks to connect to different lans 😀
(disconnect, change settings, connect other cable)
Humm, now that I think about it, not sure if it’s a viable sollution (I sometime use the second airport nic)BTW, I had issues when changing my cable from an external network, to the one I used to connect via VPN
The ipsed parts were stopped, but the gif interface still there , and I couldn’t connect to much stuffs then.
Maybe you should remove the gif interface when quitting the app / flushing everything ?Anyway, thanks for the good work 🙂

ParticipantHi
How did you configure the authentication tabs in directory access ?
In Directory Access/services/ldapv3/configure/edit windows, you nead probably put on : “Use authentication when conecting” and put an AD administrator distinguished name and passwd.
Verify the distinguished name twice.
in the search and mapping tabs, verify the user search base.
The default base is
cn=Users, dc=intranet, dc=afp548, dc=com
for exemple. It is frequent that the win admin change that for exemple with
ou=All Users, dc=intranet, dc=afp548, dc=comHere’s the points that I frekently miss when I configure a client, I hope this will help you.

ParticipantOk-
In the ftp config, I set “Allow real users to view:” to
“Home Directory with Share Points”
and the symbolic link still comes up as an alias when logged into via ftp. I try to click on it, and I get
“Permission denied. (File not accessible)”

ParticipantI thought I had installed the Dev Tools, but maybe I forgot. Anyway, figured it out. Thanks. [/i]

Participanthey cabbage –
I made the symbolic link with ln -s, but when I log in with an ftp program, apparently it is no different than a alias, that is, it looks like a file instead of a folder, and when I try to access it, it says:
Permission denied. (File not accessible)
Not sure how to proceed.

ParticipantThey don’t appear to [i:813dd570d5]have[/i:813dd570d5] a “sites” folder. Some of them only have Desktop and Library, and actually, sometimes when I make a new account in the workgroup manager, and I give them a local home and a disk quota, I logout, then try to log in under that user, it gives me this message: “The ‘Home’ folder for user ‘soandso’ cannot be found in the usual place.” and indeed there is no Home folder to speak of. If I try twice, it works, but they only have Desktop and Library folders. Very odd. Any thoughts?
