Like I said before, you have a different version of iLife 09 or you do not have iLife 09 even installed.[/p]
Which iLife09 package are you running? I have the same issue. Here is sha1 of my package: sha1:d21feae38398b52b982a5586ba0b1168534343ce
Is it just this package that has issues? Why did it work and then just not work?
I’m waiting for a build to finish and give it another test.[/p]
This is exactly the same sha1 hash that I have for my iLife 09 .mpkg.

ParticipantiLife support 9.0.4 installs fine for me via InstaDMG. I have it as part of one of my catalogs and it doesn’t ask for 9.0.4 upon firstboot.

ParticipantHere is a slightly updated version (0.3).

This was made using Platypus for the drop app part, so it should be nearly instant 🙂

ParticipantVersion 3 of this Patcher can be found here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11466/Patch%20Office%202011%20Installer/Version%203/PatchOffice2011Installer.dmg
This version should patch all localizations instead of just EN.

Participant
Quote by: mgb123[p]Tried marking the script as executable – no luck there. (Root/Wheel RWXR–R–)
[/p]
So you’ve marked it as executable and when you type sudo ./firstboot.sh it won’t run? what does it say?

Participant
Quote by: mgb123[p]Nate – Got the note – just to be clear, though my permissions are correct, the script doesn’t run at all unless I run it manually after booting. All settings are Running the script manually is odd too – – the script won’t run with the plain ‘ole ./firstboot.sh – it requires that I specify sh./firstboot.sh – is that normal?
I’m going to make the change to the running of the script in the .plist and see if that will resolve the running- I’m curious as to why my script requires this but no one else seems to have encountered it.
I’ll make the adjustments to the reboot/kill sequence that you specify.
Thanks for your help on this![/p]
Ahhh, yea. You shouldn’t have to do sh ./firstboot.sh. Try doing chmod +x on it to make it executable and see what happens. I wonder if that is why it is not running. Try the chmod +x then reboot the machine. If it runs and deletes itself, you know what the issue is.

ParticipantI’m getting pretty sick of this spam detected feature. I can’t even respond to what you are saying without it saying its spam.

ParticipantOn a image you created, don’t apply it to a machine, just double click to mount it and then browse to the User Template and make sure all the files are there. I would bet there is a small typo in the full path to the User Template or something of that sort (I’ve done it a few times myself).
Check out the new Office installer patcher, it fixes the Communicator issue I referenced in my post.

Participant
Quote by: Allister[p]It’s not the svn revision or insta-anything, it’s the package requirements looking at the wrong volume and/or doing the wrong thing.
To get around this, here’s the order that’s always worked for me(again, I only do iPhoto, but this should work with the entire package regardless):
iLife09
iLife Support 9.0.4
iPhoto 8.1.2
iLifeSlideshow_11I can’t recall where I saw this in this forum, and I got that package from somewhere, maybe even in the iLife09.mpkg bundle itself, or a downloaded update.
Please let me know if it works for you,Allister[/p]
Would it be possible to update this on the SVN so its in the correct order?
I figure if there is a specific order that works, might as well get the SVN in line with that.

ParticipantI’m honestly not sure what is going on there. I tested it like this:
I built a vanilla image using the one I posted to the mailing list without iLife Support 9.0.4 and ARD.
I then installed iLife 09 manually, didn’t prompt for 9.0.4 via software updates after that.
I installed iLife 2011 manually, it didn’t prompt for iLife support either after that.
Perhaps I will try a build using iLife09.catalog + the vanilla catalog and see what happens. Something wonky is going on for sure.

ParticipantI updated this patcher to fix the communicator issue and the font issue (duplicated fonts).
Here is vesion 2:

If anyone experiences issues, feel free to let me know.

ParticipantI like http://pastebin.com/. You can set it to automatically expire after X amount of time.

ParticipantI wanted to note that this screws up communicator. I just discovered it today and I am kicking myself for not realizing it sooner. So FYI, if you use communicator, do NOT use this method 👿

*edit* This was microsoft being stupid again with their postflight scripts. See my latest post on this thread – https://www.afp548.com/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=27797
