ParticipantOk now, why then if I set a sharepoint with acls, do the permissions not get propagated properly?
Everything is setup so that read write and execute is available for that user and or/group

ParticipantPOSIX and inherit permissions from parent selectors are greyed out and POSIX is the one selected.

ParticipantApparently DNS or WINS server looses its connection to the Windows Services and a lockup occur where Wintel clients that are binded or trying to bind to the domain are not receiving their proper SRV answers and therefore won’t bind or allow a different user to log in even if already binded…
What’s the solution? Reboot the server at least once a week untill Apple provides a patch….
I know, i know but this comes directly from a sales engineer at Apple.

ParticipantGet the Apple SCSI card as part of your BTO order, it’s much cheaper than the Atto EPCI-UL4D-000 card it competes with…
Same thing goes for the Apple fibre Channel card. Much cheaper than the Atto Celerity or Qlogic HBA FC line.
Also, Apple provides full support for those cards as part of your Applecare agreements and no drivers are required in both cases (built-in the OS)
Thanks

February 20, 2006 at 2:39 pm in reply to: Modifying user Templates without crapping everything #365382bforcier
ParticipantSorry about the delay.
I did’nt do it that way.
I created a template account, did all my preference settings and then wen into root and moved the template account folder contents to the template file.
Went back as administrator, created a new accounts and I would get all sorts of permission issues.
Would’nt there be a market for someone to developp a GUI for template modification and adding pref files, serial number files and all like there is a market for Passenger?
