    Hi

I have a share that’s being used both by Windows and Mac clients.

I’m unable to set it to inherit permissions from parent.

I’ve checked settings and they seem to be fine.

    any ideas?

POSIX and inherit permissions from parent selectors are greyed out and POSIX is the one selected.

Ok now, why then if I set a sharepoint with acls, do the permissions not get propagated properly?

Everything is setup so that read write and execute is available for that user and or/group

Same here. Using ACL’s and inherit permissions from parent is greyed out. Every new folder, created on server or dragged on server has wrong permissions. I need to propagate permissions several times a day. This really sucks. I hope the answer is out there.

Our problem came form AD groups that wouldn’t propagate to new folders. I made a OD group with AD users in it and now it does work. Anybody can create folders that use the parent folders rights.

Can anybody confirm this or is it just a hickup on my setup?
