I have been able to successfully package both Adobe CS5 Master and premium suites using Composer 7.21 with the latest diff files and choosing preinstalled software.

All, just FYI, I have put together a workaround for this problem. I am for now using Composer to create a package that contains the main installer package, a required hotfix and another custom package to run a post flight script to setup the agent for our environment. This package from composer is put in the InstaDMG build train so that it just copies these packages to /Mcafee on the hard drive. I then use a script that is kicked off using launchd on first boot to run the packages using the insaller.app commands from the script.

All, I was able to get all three users created successfully. I had to change the post flight script so that it read 10.6 when doing version checking instead of it reading 10.5. I also set the uid manually and set them starting at 501, then 503 and then 505. I am still struggling getting a password to be create correctly using some special characters but that is minor to me and can be changed later. Thanks for all the help on the issue.

Hey Steven, any chance you could send those files over so that i can give them a shot. I haven’t had any luck getting ARD configured after the InstaDMG build. are you just using the lanchdaemon to call the .sh script to configure ARD?

I have finally gotten a user created with the CreateUser.pkg but the password didn’t work correctly when i did it. I am trying to create 3 users accounts with 3 different packages. The first package created the user account but with the password for the second package and the 3rd package doesn’t seem to have ran at all. Any ideas? It seems to be an order of how things are created. the first 2 accounts to be created are both admin accounts.

i just tried build the image again without any updates or other packages except for the create users packages. Looking through the logs again i noticed that it still says that 10.6.4 is not supported but the base OS is just 10.6.3 from the install DVD. could it be that the createUser.PKG won’t work when running InstaDMG on a 10.6.4 machine?

So i just finished dumping the image on a machine with the same results. The machine boots straight to the login screen but none of the user accounts work. When i click the back button on the list of users but it only contains “other” and none of the ones that i specified. Any ideas?

The first one i tried chaning the post flight script that it was checking for OS 10.6 rather than 10.5. The image is finishing up now and I will post the results in a bit once the image is on the machine but it doesn’t look promising.

Great thanks!!! I got the new revision of InstaDMG and I am trying it now. i will update with the results once the build is complete. Once question though for hte create user package. in the USERDATA file when it says leave blank does that mean just leave that secition commented out if you just want the defaults?

nobrianer – where did you get rev 309. i tried getting it from the /trunk/instaDMG.bash but when trying to run that i keep getting a command not found error in terminal

I am using Revision 261 and I am using just InstaDMG no instaup2date and I have tried putting the CreatUser.pkg in the 01 custom package folder and i have tried it in my last folder of the build chain but it makes no difference.

updating the image to 10.5.8 resolved the issue.

Well the keys actually do work but when i press the volume up or down it shows the circle with a line through it. Also i don’t have any sound for anything and it shows no audio devices listed.
