ParticipantI’m having issues with using Net-install images under 10.6. All my 10.5 images work just fine. The issue is with the packages I add. My Net-install image only installs 10.6 none of the other packages I added. I thought it might be fact that it was a 10.5 Server, so I setup a Netboot server under 10.6 and remade the Net-install package. Same results. When I do a custom install and select options, I can see all the packages there, but after the install one of them get installed.
Anyone else having this issue?

ParticipantThanks. I got it fixed. I called Enterprise Applecare tech support. I had the DHCP filter on my NetBoot server. Once I turned that off, my Netinstall images became available.

Participant
Quote by: MacTroll[p]So admins aren’t typically bound by policy, which is why an admin user worked.
The particular error is that local accounts, non-OD accounts, aren’t authorized to log into this machine. Is “reception” a local account?[/p]
Yes, these are local non-admin accounts. Reception is one of them. I had 5 iMacs do this over the weekend. In order to by-pass to allow these people to login, I gave them admin access. I’m thinkng I’ll create some more standard accounts to see if the same thing happens. If that doesn’t work I was thinking I could set up a managed admin account. Why this happened out of no where is beyond me.

ParticipantIt’s kind of complicated process. I’m making packages out of software downloads like Firefox and Transmit. Once I have a package of Firefox 2.0.1.2, I can use ARD to install it across the network. I administrate about 150 Macs, so it’s very helpful for me. I was able to solve my issue, by grabbing package maker 2.1.1 from my friends machine. I ran that on my machine and it created my package without issue. Must be some kind of bug with leopard or a new learning curb to overcome. So for now I’m good. Thanks for checking in.

ParticipantThanks. I already ordered the book. I brought in a guy to help, but it only made matters worse. I had to restore from a backup. I love backups.

ParticipantI’m new to this, so I’m not familier the tools you described. Can I get more of a description on how to increment the zone and restart bind.
Thanks Again.

ParticipantUpdate: I was looking at the wrong server logs. I was looking at the Password Server Replication Logs. Opps. I checked the other Password Server log on these two accounts. It seems that the server was registerating that they were making too many incorrect password entries, so it locked out there account. I removed some old server passwords from there keychains, and turned off the Password Policy for too many failed login attempts. We’ll see what happens.
Thanks.

ParticipantI’m still having this issue with 10.4.6. I was so hoping that 10.4.6 was going to fix it.
