ParticipantI don’t understand why you need a different group.
Where is the file uploaded?Anonymous
ParticipantTake a look at the manual “File serveces administration” specifically chapter 2 page 23.
Select “Inherit permission from parent” from the “Protocol” button .

ParticipantI use AsantÈ FAST 590 on my machine a home and AsantÈ FAST 696 at work. Both works fine and the one at home is used sometimes in a PC for tests.

Participantsure enough – can’t authenticate (a fact i didn’t bother to test until after i posted, but in my defense the impression i got from reading other comments on this and other sites was that it wasn’t present at all). shows how ignorant i can be.
so now i’m confused, and guess i’ll ought to wait for backfill to clarify (as i’m by no means a unix guru). i’ll have to do some digging on my own, but what’s the difference between the sasl2 that’s currently running on my 10.3 server, and the SASL in your instructions?

Participantoddly enough – my install of 10.3.2 server had the timsieved binary already in the cyrus directory. i just added sieve to /etc/services and restarted the mail services, and it *seems* to be functioning (I can telnet to port 2000 and connect to timsieved). now i just have to do some learning on how sieve works (and/or track down a squirrelmail plug in that works with seive).
any pointers on where to look?

ParticipantProblem solved.
In the manual “File services administration” on page 23, “Changing apple file setting for a share point” the protocol had to be set to “Inherit permission from parent”.
A note should be put in the manuel that if you want to share a folder the Standard Unix Behavior is not the one to be set.
I am not a specialist with OSX Sserver and tend to stay with standard or default settings.
Hope that this can help others.
It took me all Sunday afternoon to figure that out, but I don’t care cause I’ve learned a little bit more.

ParticipantThere are some not so well documented stuff on the VPNtracker website.
It took me two weeks to get my Netgear FVS318 to work. When it works it works. You have to set the local IP as some number (10.5.4.5) and that has to be the remote IP on the router. Make sure you upgrade to the newest version of the firmware from NetGear. Check the NetGear manual from VPNtracker, read it closely. I missed it for a week and a half.
If you have any questions, Email me a greg at freemantech net
