    [quote:9cdef81def=”MacTroll”]disktool -r

should refresh the desktop and show the newly mounted volumes without requiring a force quit of the Finder.

[quote:40da1ae315=”magicj”]How can I mount an external Hard Drive, other then restarting the system?[/quote:40da1ae315]

OK, I think I found what i was looking for; autodiskmount. Mostly does the
job, makes the disk avaliable again to Darwin. Have to force quit finder before
it is avalible on the desktop. But this will do.

[quote:a88cd810c0=”Cabbage”]FireWire? USB? just plug it in and it will mount on the desktop. You can also open Disk Utility to see if it is connected and mount and unmount volumes.[/quote:a88cd810c0]
