ParticipantI suppose you were in this situation too? It felt like Groundhogs day, you know?
I pored through the E class manuals and discovered the keywords that tipped me off…. “Reserve Sector”
As soon as I saw that, I was like … LIGHT BULB! WhenI triggered that reset, the drive LEDs flickered away like Xmas!! I was happy! Of corse, now, if I saw those lights flicker that way, I would not be happy!
Xsan has been running since!

ParticipantFigured it out…. Applied “Everyone Else” group to the root level of the external storage volume, shared the target subdirectories, then killed the “Everyone else” entry from the volume. That basically resuscitated subdirectory access control.
Weird, but true!

ParticipantFull blown iPad integration to wgm… With image deployment and policy integration thereof, a move that makes ipads a NON nightmare in corporate conditions:)
And, possible bare metal virtualization licensing, so it can run on real 1u raised floor HW environment…. You know, Dual redundant high-efficiency power supplies?? Because a MacPro as a server just won’t cut the mustard!
Thanks,
