Participanten0 is facing the world and gets an IP from cable provider via DHCP. en1 has an AirPort connected and DHCP listens to this interface. Everything else works just fine. When I manually execute "sudo serveradmin dhcp stop/start" DHCP starts as it should.
Here’s a part of the log:

ParticipantI’ve faced the same problem. Mac OS X Server 10.4.7, XServe G5 says “no available interfaces” at boot. When I manually restart DHCP service – everything goes right.

ParticipantIt looks like if a network error occurs while downloading update from Apple servers the local server just silently stops trying. In my case the selected updates just stay with a blue exclamation mark and I don’t see any way to determine whether download is in progress or is already broken. There’s no point in using local SUS if I have to redownload all the updates over and over.
By the way, any way to feed a SUS with already downloaded package?

I have a really old article on converting local accounts to mobile accounts if you aren’t doing network homes here. The article gives you the idea of how it works, but now I wouldn’t mess with the folder re-naming stuff. I would just login as local admin, delete the user using Netinfo Manager, chown the home folder, and have them login.
[/QUOTE]
This looks like a very promising solution to me. Could you explain that Netinfo stuff a bit deeper? Should I delete an appropriate group as well? Who is going to be the new home owner?
Thank you very much!
