Participantif you enabled spotlight on your mounted volumes, it could be related to a documented memory leak. I suffered from this problem and I had applications crashes and degraded overall performance after a few spotlight searches. It took me some time to figure out the cause of the problem. The solution exists and it works:

ParticipantI found the solution and it works !
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305167
But it took me while to discover that Spotlight was the culprit…

Participantmaybe I have a clue (but still no solution)
in WGM, in the Sharing window/network mount the /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 is locked and I can’t unlock it (tried with admin, diradmin and root)
What should I do ?

Participantwhen I log in as diradmin in the WGM I am authentified. I get the “authentified as diradmin for directory : /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1” message and diradmin is allowed to manage this directory in his user profile. The strangest thing is that from time to time this problem dissapears and I am able to create users again (not very often) !

Participantmirroring the drive would use up resources, no ? I don’t need to have a mirror which is updated all the time. One single copy of the users directory every night would be fine. So basically what I am looking for is a simple way to issue a cp command every night at 3 am, to copy our /users to the 3rd hard disk and erasing the previous backup. Is psync/rsync the solution ? I am not familiar with these tools, could you provide a link to some documentation/examples (or are the man pages enough ?)
thanks
