How would (could?) you get the 2nd disc to use an InstallerChoices.xml file?
Couldn’t you copy the package to the BaseUpdates folder and install with an InstallerChoices.xml file from there?

Duh moment here. Just moved everything out to a file server. Since packages don’t like to be installed over the network, I am going to wrap them up in dmgs and try again.

1.4b4 is able to use dmg files now correct?

I would just mod an install DVD to boot to NetRestore. If you do it that way you can add the config of whatever file server is available in the area. Depending on the size of the image you might even be able to include the image on a DL disc and do the whole thing from DVD. That is what I do for our imaging center. Basically strip out all the install packages, drop NetRestore in /Application/Utilities, and copy the pre and postWS from your real NetRestore to the etc folder.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I was using Leopard and Xcode 3. I ended up leaving a package to build (Acro Reader 8) over the weekend and it finally built. After that I tried Office 04 on the same computer and it built with no problems. So now it seems to be working (I am just afraid to restart that computer now!)

Along the same package magic lines, how are you folks creating your first start scripts? I have been trying to create a LaunchDaemon that does something then deletes itself by doing something like
/scripts/byHostfix.sh | rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.blah.byHostfix.plist
which I thought would work but doesn’t. How are you guys doing it. I would rather not leave the sript on the HD after it has done it’s job.
