I have tried this twice now and both times my packages fail to install while writing the receipt.

I am using instadmg1.4b4 using an OEM 10.5.4 iMac DVD. The OS installs, the cache image is created, and 10.5.5 combo update is successful. After that *nearly* all other packages fail. Here is an example from the log
installer: The software was successfully installed…..
installer: The install was successful.
Base OS installed
Compacting and saving cached image to: ./Caches/BaseImageCache/C81A26C2:d3b008d00135a84613ad2b80737c8c03b2feca7b.dmg
“disk5” unmounted.
“disk5” ejected.
Remounting the image with a shadow file (/tmp/instaDMGTemp.dCYSeu.sparseimage)
/dev/disk5 GUID_partition_scheme
/dev/disk5s1 EFI
/dev/disk5s2 Apple_HFS /tmp/instaDMGMount.qCSfMH

Installing MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.5.pkg from ./InstallerFiles/BaseUpdates/01
installer: Package name is Mac OS X Update Combined
installer: Installing at base path /tmp/instaDMGMount.qCSfMH

installer: The software was successfully installed…..
installer: The install was successful.
Installing QuickTime755_Leopard.pkg from ./InstallerFiles/BaseUpdates/02
installer: Package name is QuickTime
installer: Installing at base path /tmp/instaDMGMount.qCSfMH
installer: Preparing for installation…..

installer: Writing files: 100% complete
installer: Writing package receipt
installer: The install failed (The Installer could not write the receipt for “QuickTime755_Leopard”.)
Installing iTunes.mpkg from ./InstallerFiles/BaseUpdates/03
Any body have any ideas? Has anyone else tried 1.4b4 with 10.5.5 combo update?

Duh moment here. Just moved everything out to a file server. Since packages don’t like to be installed over the network, I am going to wrap them up in dmgs and try again.

1.4b4 is able to use dmg files now correct?
