This I’ve done recently. You setup the Mac OS X server as the Primary Domain Controller (PDC). When you use Server Admin, look in the Windows section. The options are in there. You also want to be sure that when you setup Mac OS X server that you had a properly setup DNS entry for the server’s name with forward and reverse lookup. Kerberos is the key to having the single sign-on between the macs and the windows machines and only works properly if the forward and reverse lookup entries are correct. In Server Admin, check the Open Directory section and ensure that Password Server and KDC are running. I know I’m being brief, but the details are all located in the Windows Services manual:

This is done automatically when you set the machine up as a PDC (and you also set it up to do network home directories for Mac users). The default is H: and if you don’t change the user’s home settings in Workgroup manager, it’ll be the same as their Mac OS home directory by default. There’s a trick to getting the H:\Documents folder to map to the My Documents folder on the PC. Detailed instructions are located at the following location:

Roaming profiles using the Mac OS X server as the PDC will do this.

I know that’s pretty quick, but the Windows Services manual explains a whole lot about it. Also worth looking at is the Open Directory manual where it explains network home directories (or maybe it’s in the File Sharing manual….). It took me about a month to get this all figured out the first time. Now it only takes me a few hours to do. I hope that helps you eliminate some of the time I had to invest when I was first figuring this stuff out.
