    EPSV is the ‘extended’ version of the PASV command. It is described in
    RFC2428 and allows communication over non-IPv4 protocols (such as IPv6) as well.
    EPSV shouldn’t make no harm, only an extra
    command-response.

    I’m having a similar problem.
    Installed a new Xserve. Promoted it to a PDC. Checked with to join as the admin user. Worked fine.
    Created new users, and all of them get “Access denied” when I try to join them.
    Tried users as admins and nonadmin, wiyh or without home folders.
    Checked to re-promote the PDC, wih no success.

    I checked the valuse for
    workgroup ( = THEDOMIAININUSE)
    security = domain
    and added
    password server = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip number of the AD server)

    But that didn’t help.

    Somebody gave me a hint that it might be WINS related, but I have no clue where to go from here.
