    I’ve got this problem too on an XServe G4 using 10.3.9 with 10.3.9 clients, and now I’m still seeing it with with 10.4.1 and 10.3.9/10.4.1 clients.

    Clients are connecting via AFP, we’ve also got OD and NFS. AFP is set to not disconnect idle users. Guest access is enabled.
