I too was wondering how to disable portions of an install without opening the package in PackageMaker and mucking around where I probably shouldn’t. In Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, the man page for the command line ‘installer’ has an option ‘-showChoicesXML’, ‘-applyChoiceChangesXML’, and ‘-showChoicesAfterApplyingChangesXML’. That said, I’ve been able to get the output of showChoicesXML, but haven’t been able to use applyChoiceChangesXML to apply those changes.

I did find this http://www.jaharmi.com/2007/11/05/leopard_installer_utility_and_install_choice_cha but haven’t been able to make any headway yet. Ideas?
