I have BackupPC working using the ‘tar’ backup method (server running on OS X Server 10.4 backing up clients running OS X 10.,4). It was pretty straight forward to set up – I’ve documented how I did it at [url]http://www.staddle.net/dokuwiki/backuppc[/url].
So far it has been working fine. The only thing I have noticed is that the file listings show the ‘hidden’ files that the OS X version of tar uses to save the resource forks, etc which makes the file lists a bit messy.
