The topic seems to have drifted to Tiger server, but I have a problem similar to the original poster.
Server 10.3.9, clients 10.4.8 – 10.4.9
mounted share points from the server appear as locked volumes on the desktop, get info appears to show permissions to be OK, apart from giving read only access to Tiger clients, in their various guises, this does not occur with Panther/OS9 clients.
Is the terminal command mentioned the answer, still rather paranoid of using terminal on the server…
