I’m using NFS.

After holding down “n” on the client machine, the globe comes up and then the computer just sits there with the swirling spinner thing.

Perhaps I’ll just turn off sync for iPhoto entirely and see if that works better.

Does this mean that it won’t work even if I sync only on login/logout?

Is the standard approach to just not sync this folder?

I think the fix for this was to kill any instance of xftp that was running. Still, I don’t know why xftp would be running or what causes it to launch.

Just to clarify: do I change /etc/cups on the server side or on all of the client side of things?

I have an admin account on the host computer but I’d prefer the teachers at school not know the password for it.

I was going to add the printers via WGM but because they are USB shared printers, they don’t show up in the list.

Are there other methods you could point me to?
