n/m. I guess I answered the question for myself, but for anyone else with the same problem. 10.4 works great as is. 10.3 you need to be root. You can’t even do this with a sudo if you are admin.

So i guess, the question has changed. If anyone has any ideas how I can do the mount_afp without becoming root I’d be glad to hear it. Thanks.

How do we backup users WITH there passwords intact? Is the creation of an OD replica a sufficient backup method?
