22261349 -rw——- 1 cyrus mail 53596 18 Oct 12:43 cyrus.indexDo you see the number of hard links for each mail message?
This is normally just 1 in all my other mailboxes and is the only difference I can see.My questions are:
1. Are these hard links likely to be the cause of the problem with unreadable/un-downloadable mail, even after reconstruction?2. If so, how can I fix this?
Many thanks.

ParticipantIf anyone else has had this problem it has been addressed by 10.4.4

ParticipantActually, I just ran a script to count the number of users in the groups and there is 1000 users in each group
Thanks for any info on this,
Davedave621
ParticipantJust over 600 users in the groups that are giving me problems.
Thanks,
Davedave621
Participanterm there are about 7000 users in the first forest and about 1000 users in the second forest
they need to be able to log on and have the home drives mapped which are on a windows server. this all works find with the ad plugin
we have tried setting up the ldap plug in but nothing happens. so i found a guide on here which was for single user sign on and followed that for setting up ldap and let out the single user bit, but this dosnt seem to work either, i used lookupd to search for users to test it and i just get nil
if anyone could take me through setting up ldap step by step that would be great

ParticipantHi Thanks for the reply, We are using Managed Mobile AD accounts on our laptops and we are using just AD authenicated being Managed by WGM in our stationary labs. We get the “You cannot login” message in both environments about 10% of the time and is completly random. When we get the message it lets you log in, but often the users folder is owned by system and everyone has no access permission. Leaving the account useless.
The mcx_cache thing is really weird. If I have LDAPv3 over Active Directory the computer will keep it’s managed settings while offline, but If a user logs in before the WGM server updates the cache the users auto-mounted AD specified server space won’t mount. If I have AD over LDAPv3 the way it is suppose to be the auto-mount works all time, but if the computer is off the network the computer isn’t managed. Leaving the user as a Standard No Limits user. Major problem in a high school lab kids figured out if they log in with the local student account while unplugged they have no limitations then only had to plug the network cord in to get a network connection. So this is why Apple had us put LDAPv3 over AD.
This problem only started after we upgraded to 10.4 server to resolve problems that we were having with 10.3 server trying to manage 49 different computer list. 10.4 is more stable, but it comes with some headaches of it’s own. Any ideas??? I’m fresh out ideas and were getting ready to escalate with Apple.
Thanks,

ParticipantFound the same problem with afp shares on a windows server. Also it would login in and mount the server space, but in the server space would be a library folder with com.apple.dock.plist, com.apple.MCX.plist, and com.apple.homesync.plist. Also the local Mobile account for a regular user would only have the Desktop folder and the Library folder in their users folder. If I logged in with a Domain Admin account I hade all the folders in my users folder correctly but still got the Library folder in my auto-mounted server space. I had a Apple SE in to look at the problem with mobile accounts and he said they are working on a switch for the dsconfiad to fix this problem. They didn’t think it would be in 10.4.3 but later. Hope this helps,

ParticipantI was just trying to do this myself. Right now I don’t have access to the server (it is in a different town about 30 min. away), but would one of you check this and see if it works?
