Quote by: allenjd[p]Didn’t seem to help. Thanks anyway. I think I will roll with 10.5.5 with ACLs disabled and see how that goes. Will keep an emergency 10.5.4 image handy though. Maybe 10.5.6 will magically fix things.[/p]
I’ve had some success with this, so far. Not only setting the LDAP Mappings to “from Server” (ty MacTroll), but I noticed that leopard seems to have changed the default search path to “cn=config,dc=mydomain,dc=com”. I removed the cn=config path so it is just set to “dc=mydomain,dc=com”. This may vary according to how your LDAP domain is set up, but after making this change it seems to be looking in more of the tree, and thus is pulling information about accounts. In the “get info” box, I am now seeing the names of the accounts that I want to configure instead of “unknown”. I still have “unknown” for some groups, oddly enough, however the accounts in question seem to be working correctly so far – went from not being able to see Applications/ or Library/ to having a user log in with all of the apps appearing in the dock as usual.
