    Hey-

I think many people (myself included) have seen this issue.

I have not found a good work around yet.

I see similar issue with 10.4.7 Server and 10.4.8 Client. It looks like the AppleFileServer Error.log started filling with the ” TCP Listener returned error on accept” error the day before the crash. I think it gets steadily worse, allowing fewer and fewer new connections before it breaks.

Anyone have any news on potential fixes? Sounds like 10.4.8 server isn’t any better. I may just script out an afpserver restart when that error appears in the log…

Someone else suggested removing the following Quicktime component:

    /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeUSBVDCDigitizer.component

This worked for us on our new iMacs. The camera is not available in Quicktime or iMovie now. I just removed PhotoBooth from our laptop image.

Apparently the other file, /System/Library/Extensions/Apple_iSight.kext, is the driver for external isight cameras.

So I removed Office 2004 and the traffic disappeared. Guess thats what it was.

Hmmm, I am now suspecting Microsoft Office 2004 is looking for other copies on our network.
