ParticipantThe Always policy is set in the Energy Saver preference pane for portable clients.
Managed accounts are still able to change the Battery optimization in the menu bar from Custom to let say Better Battery Life without administrator password.
Once, the Battery optimization is changed by one managed accounts it sticks for any other managed account that logs in, the same holds true even after a restart.

ParticipantTrue, you could disable the Energy Saver preferences pane with MCX as can be seen when you open System Preferences from a managed account, and I am managing it through MCX. But, you still can change the battery settings in the menu bar. I need the battery icon in the menu bar.
Same holds true for the Airport icon in the menu bar. Thanks

ParticipantThanks for replying to my post.
Beside removing the Airport icon from the menu bar, is it possible to prompt for administrator privileges to turn the airport off when changed by a managed account?
There is no administrator privileges prompt when a managed user changes the battery settings from custom to lets say Better Energy Savings setting (this puts HD to sleep when possible).
Thanks
