    Hi MacTroll

Yes, you’re right. We have an Xserve RAID that hosts the users Mac Home Folders and an Active Directory Server with storage that hosts the users Windows Profile, so ideally when the students log in from the iMacs it needs to log into their Mac Home Folder and when they log in from a PC workstation it needs to look to the Windows Server. Can this be done?

The students (around 1500) are entered into the AD system from the school admin system and rather than have to maintain two user lists, it would be ideal to just have one on the AD server.

    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi

I too am interested in achieving the same thing and would be keen to learn if you get a resolution to this. I have been trawling the net and searching Apple discussions to no avail so far and the posts I have read, like you have found, all seem to relate to 10.4 server.

    Hi
We had this same problem, with Windows XP clients taking ages to log in and then even longer to log out. Cured it by using this command on the server`;-

    sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0

After this all worked well. Hope it works for you.
