    I have 8 new Xserve (10.4.1) that hangs when the blue screens pop up and the spinwheel keeps spinning instead of the login window.

    I boot up in a single user mode and ran fsck -fy (boot partition) and fsck_hfs -f (two other drives) it gave the status of OK.

    After serveral reboot, the system finally came up.

    Any idea?

    I believe that if the hang is happening on the blue screen before the startup process status bar, then the problem could be hardware related since the OS actually hasn’t loaded up yet. Hopefully someone can clarify this…
