We’ve got an Early 2008 XServe that has suddenly started to spin it’s fans at full whack. Server Monitor just happily reports fans at 12-15k RPM (8k+ on Power Supply 1 and 2) and says all is well (LOL).
Everything seems fine software wise, no stray processes etc. The fans starts to gradually rev up immediately after power on.
Tried an SMC and PRAM reset but no luck. Had a newer Xserve with similar symptoms which was fixed with an SMC reset but am running low on ideas with this one. Any ideas or hints greatly appreciated!
