Bit of a weird one this and it would be great if someone could help. Two Xserve G5s both running OSX Server 10.4.8. Both have Fibre Channel cards installed, however they are slightly different versions (one is PCI-X). They’re connected to a Qlogic 5200 FC switch, Xserve RAID and an ADIC Scalar 24. What is happening at the moment however is that one of the Xserves will only connect to the switch using one of it’s two FC connections (ie it just won’t multipath). If I watch the switch software, 2 pop up briefly as the Xserve boots but then one always disappears (and the lights on the switch itself go off). No logs on the Xserve of any use and the switch doesn’t report any errors. The other Xserve, the one with the PCI-X card, works fine and all the cables are OK. The switch has been set up with the right settings for the Xserves (ie StreamGuard on for the Xserves, device scan off).

The description for the FC card that doesn’t work, from ASP is:

    LSILogic LSI7202P Firmware 0.0.0, Fcode 1.00.29

On the Xserve that multipaths correctly it is:

    LSILogic LSI7202XP Firmware 1.1.11, Fcode 1.00.30

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Skaff.
