We are new to mac’s and trying to setup AD/OD’s “Magic Triangle.” So far everything is working 100% but here is my issue….

We have a 10.5.5 server, with 10.5.5 clients. they login through AD and get their policies through OD (obviously)

We have it set to only allow certain applications. Now what happens is I copied work group manager to the Machines and allowed all the software to run, CS3 as well. Now when we go to run it it says it is not in the allowable list..

I then went back into Workgroup manager and allowed the folders for each application to run.

Still says it’s not in the list.

Anyone else run into this problem? I’m stuck and cannot seem to find a solution….

Try removing the signing of the application, this should allow it to run but opens up a security flaw…

Hi Nick, is there any difference between client and server architecture? I ran into a similar problem with an accounting application and after hours of to and fro-ing worked out that it was the PPC/Intel difference causing my frustration. Mac Pro with 1 Intel client and 3 PPC clients using WGM on the intel client would allow it to run on the server and itself adding it from a PPC client would only allow it on the other PPC clients.
    Cheers
