    Hello,

We’re using a OSX-Panther with 4DMailserver 5.4 (and 4Dwebmail 2.0.3) on it as a mailserver. It’s not working very stable and the webmail isn’t good and userfriendly.

I also have a osx-server (10.3.x) for filesharing and webservices.

Can anyone tell me which other mailserver to use (osx 10.3servermail, 10.4servermail, Kerio, Communigate, etc) ????????

I have around 120 users in my network. 75% will use webmail and the other 25% will use mail.app as the client.
I have also a Barracuda Spamfirewall for protecting from spam and viruses.

Mail (25%), webmail (75%) is all I need for mail. I’m now using webdav en ical for calendaring, which is working fine ! I also want a shared addressbook for my mail (works via LDAP and addressbook), but ……. I also want the addressbook in the webmail: is that possible ? (I want to see a shared addressbook in webmail which is the same as the ldap-database which I can see in addressbook).

I’ve been evaluating KMS for the past 2 weeks. I must say, it rocks.

I also tried Comminigate Pro, but I find that interface to be rather clunky to say the least. Besides, if you have 100 accounts and not 100,000, Communigate is kind of overkill. Also, the price is more reasonable, even when adding the built-in McAffee AV, and you can add 20 users at a time, which is nice for small biz.

The best thing about Kerio is the interface. It’s gorgeous. The web interface is so reminicent of Entourage, my users *love* it. I also like the built-in McAffee AV. If you’re all-Mac, that’s kind of unnecessary, but we have a few PCs here so it’s a must. I sent an EICAM virus test file and whammo, it was stripped from the email.

The Groupware support is excellent. iCal rocks with it. Entourage support is limited, not as many features as if you ran an Exchange server, but the calendar stuff in iCal works great.

BTW, while testing it, I’m using it strictly for IMAP. Right now we are all using POP with our ISP, but that’s about to change!
