We are trying to deploy some macs to our field locations. We have all of our macs integrated into our Windows network using the Active Directory plugin and that works fine. On our Windows machines in the field the Cisco VPN has a feature called runatlogon which allows you to connect to the VPN prior to logging on to the machine. I need to find a way to reproduce this feature on the macs. Without this new users, cannot log on to these machines. Any ideas would be helpful.

I’ve been able to accomplish something like this with fast user switching. I create a local user, and use Directory Access to set the LDAP domain for my network at home. Then I start IPSecuritas, the free VPN client I use. I return to the FUS login window, select the Other… user, and login to my LDAP domain at home via VPN.
