Hello !
Ive setup the VPN service (PPTP) in a 10.5.2 Server without firewall enabled. From the router I forwarded the necessary ports in the internal IP of the Server.
The connection was made fine, from both Macs and XPs. When an XP (a virtual or real machine) tried to access a shared folder on a Windows 2003 Server, nothing was happening, and after a while “you dont have permissions to use blahblah..).
I thought it was a router problem (GRE protocol not passed from the router which didnt have any option for vpn passthrough).
So, i stopped the VPN service on the Mac Server and configured it to a Windows Server, and all are working OK so far.
Why did the Leopard Server VPN failed?
Ive check the logs and found an “Unsupported protocol 0x8057 received” every time a Windows user tries to access this folder.
The scenario is: Windows clients are connecting through VPN on the OS X Server and accessing a shared folder on a Windows 2003 Server and run an application in it.
