VPN Connection Issues

Hello,

We currently use Tiger 10.4.9 server as our main vpn server. We also have a T1 connection. Our problem is we don’t always get a connection to through the VPN. Sometimes we have to try for several minutes just to make a connection. And sometimes when we make a connection we are not able to connect to other computers that we would normally be able to conect to via remote desktop. Ip addreses setup in the vpn config are not a problem as we have atleast 5 freely available. If anyone can provide any answers or where I should look to find out the problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Is the Xserve connected directly to the ISP, or going through a router first?
