Volume sharing configuration 10.4 clients

Is there any documentation that discusses configuring Volume Sharing between 10.4 clients over a network?
Specifically a Lab setting where one client has a large capacity fire wire drive that other clients mount as a volume.
I can do this sharing it from a 10.5 client, but this Lab needs to stay totally 10.4
