First of all its great to see someone helping the Mac community by developing this client (shame SonicWall don’t do one themselves).
As the developer (of VaporSec) has specifically been testing in conjunction with a SonicWall and I myself have used SonicWalls in the past there are a couple of features I would like to see to improve the integration between the two.
Using SonicWall’s own VPN Client (for Windows only) it is possible to use what SonicWall refer to as a ‘group’ VPN certificate (where multiple PC clients can use the same config and certificate file, dramatically reducing the amount of work needed to set them all up), it is also possible (again with Sonic’s own VPN client) to set up an additional layer of security by bringing up a ‘User Name/Password’ dialog when the PC connects via VPN to the SonicWall (the User Name and Password are then checked against a RADIUS security server).
I would very much like to be able to use both these features under MacOS X. Indeed, I would not even consider using the Group VPN facility without using the RADIUS facility (without the RADIUS security effectively everyone would be using the same password, so if someone left EVERYONE would have to change to a new password for security reasons).
Will it be possible to add these features to VaporSec?
Thanks, John Lockwood
