    Authenticating fine… OH HAPPY DAY!!!

Now down to the user folders…

From my understanding of section 4 in the integration it seems to indicate that in the group folder it would create the users home folder…please corrrect me if I’m wrong…

Really would like to go through with a guru if there is anyone out there with the time…

I really need to get this knocked on the head asap as I’ve got to move 200 machines to a new building over the summer….

What I’d love to do ideally in the end is as follows…

Students on A,B,C courses have their home folders created in the PC based storage…

Students on D, E, F courses have their storage on my OSX server.

Initially all on my OSX server will do…

If you like I’m on MSN as [email protected]

    TA Very much

Has anyone been able to use the HomeDirectory or NFSHomeDirectory attributes under the LDAPv3 plugin in panther to get AD user’s home directories to save on an Xserve. I am typing in the correct XML string under the HomeDirectory attribute however when an AD user logs in they are prompted with an error that says their home directory is located on an AFP or SMB mounted share on a server.. DUH! So why won’t it take the plunge and just create–>save the home folder under the share. I even verified the share permissions: Everyone R+W, Owner and group = R+W.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be a huge help. I have been working on this for 3 months and my Apple Engineer and I haven’t been able to crack it.

What if you wanted to tweak the home directory template and the home directories are not on a OSX server (well an OSX server for WGM but that’s it). Where is this stored? I thought it may be on the client but adding items there doesn’t seem to work neither does tweaking the OSX server user template. Does it just know what folders to create on login and there is no user template?
