User Home Folder Websites

I have been trying to get a server up and running so people can publish their own sites to their Sites folder. I have two servers who are mounting an Xserve RAID (1 on each RAID card) mounting a volume raid1 and raid2 respectively to odmaster and odreplica.

The problem I am having is on odreplica when I type http://odreplica/~teststudent I get the proper home page. When I type http://odmaster/~testteacher it fails and gives me an error message of permission denied. I have verified the permissions. There are no ACLs, only POSIX. Other user has read only permissions so they should be able to get there.

Any thoughts on why this wouldn’t work? The error message in Apache error logs for the site is permission denied.
