I’ve been helping another department recover from a RAID failure. They were using the Apple software RAID to mirror two drives on their Xserve. One drive failed and we had to image the RAID, destroy it, put in the new drive and re-build it because it had been created under 10.3 and is now running 10.4

We imaged the files back on and now it’s showing a weird behavior with ACL’s and Disk Quotas. In WGM if you click on the share and check Disk Quotas they work. However, if you then check "Enable Access Control List" it disables Disk Quotas. If you uncheck ACL’s it automatically re-enables Disk Quotas.

I believe before all of this excitement with the RAID that they had both ACL’s and Disk Quota enabled. (The server admin is out of the country so the person I’m helping doesn’t know for sure). The question is can both ACL’s and Disk Quota be enabled at the same time? If they can does anyone have any ideas as to why we suddenly can’t?

Ok, as usual I stumbled across the answer right after I posted. The trick is to click on the "All" tab under Sharing in WGM, not the "Shares" tab. When you select the share under the "All" tab you can enable both ACL’s and Disk Quotas.
