We have two Xserve G4s that we are getting ready to reconfigure. We are going to use one for “external” FTP access and to run a 4D database. The other will be “internal” for email, dns, production stuff, etc. They are both connected to GigE and are on the same subnet via EN1 (the card). The database is going to be grabbing image files (4-100mb) from its xserve (external) as received and copying them to other xserve (internal).

    Question:

Can I connect them to one another via EN0 (built-in) a separate subnet and mount the sharepoint from internal for the purpose of moving the files and keeping the traffic for such off our main network?

Answered my own question. Configured the two machines last night and it works like a champ.
