    Hi There,

Having just migrated from an old Mac to a new Mac I am now observing strange things connecting from the old Mac to my homedir on the new Mac via AFP. I am unable to create folders due top a permission problem.

Get info in Finder tells me I can R+W…

I am pretty sure my “error” is caused by the fact that I am no longer using the same UID on both my accounts on the two different machines (on the new machine I am now using two accounts – an ADMIN (UID 501) account (for system stuff) and a normal daily account (UID 503) for all my general work.

If I am ssh’ing (using the same credentials) I AM able to create new folders on the new machine – but not via AFP.

I THINK I have read an article somewhere, that had some details about this problem – but now I can’t find it.

Any ideas how to make AFP behave “OK” again in this situation?

I have tried to find a solution via Macosxhints forum (see URL below), but I am fairly sure I have read about a similair the problem here on AFP548 (even though this is mainly server-related and my problem clearly is not) perhaps I can be pointed toward a relevant thread here?
