We have xservers at several schools and the users authenticate to edirectory from mac or PC to connect to their shares. We login locally onto all machines and THEN log on to server.

When logging in from a PC, we get a “virtual home directory” which points to the user’s home directory if it is set up.

When we log in from a mac, we just get the “home” share and the user has to dig down through the directories to find theirs. Can we get virtual home directories without messing with edirectory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I have been looking at Novell/Apple connectivity for a while now. I think we all need to look at Kanaka.

Some people I have talked to a macenterprise.org spoke highly of the product.
