I am trying to connect a 10.4.5 client to a 10.4.5 server on a VPN over L2TP.
On the client I see ‘connecting…’ in the menu bar, but it does not seems to get through. The status in Internet Connect read ‘Contacting VPN server..’
On the server I get something like this…

April 19, 2006 at 6:16 pm #366006snafu ParticipantHi,
I am getting the same problem but only from win machines on L2TP, macs are all cool.
(I have managed to connect the PC’s using PPTP. but less secure)
I have posted numerous requests for help on this subject to no avail.
I also get another similar log, which details "Bad AVP type" between
each IP assignment.
best of luck

I think you might get this error if your remote IP was in the same range as your host????
cheers
