I am a little confused about how the Tiger address book and ldap server works. I was under the impression that it was improved over Panther but I am not able to get it to work any differently. I’ve set up the server and the auto-update ldap cards box is checked.

The one thing that made the address book with ldap useless under Panther was that users had to search every name. Isn’t there now a way to simply list all the names just like any other directory in the address book? Shouldn’t I be able to simply drag those entries into my various lists and have them updated automatically when they are changed on the server? What am I missing? TIA.

You have to search for the LDAP results to show up. Too bad there is no browse.

That was not what I wanted to hear but thanks. It seems it is just as useless with Tiger as Panther.
